Ore
Grief forges molten hearts
from copper into gold,
artfully consumes itself
and pain
in sacrificial flame.
Helplessly,
we become
the ore
for fatal acts
of selfless light-
plunged and risen
from the alchemists fire,
tempered worthy
by the heat of life.
